What is this, a trick question? The answer is clearly A. Bigger is always better, right? Forget all this multi-AZ and proxy nonsense, just crank up that RDS instance and call it a day.

Hmm, increasing the RDS instance size seems like the obvious choice, but I'm not sure if that's really the best way to decrease failover time. Modifying the cluster to a single AZ could be faster, but that might compromise availability.
