I've heard that using SIP with a dial pattern or regular expression to forward calls to AAM is another method that could be used.

I think using a direct H.323 trunk group between CM and AAM could also be a possible way calls are routed.

I believe calls are actually routed using SIP via Avaya Aura Session Manager, with AAM built as a user with a Communication Profile.
