Actual exam question for CIPS's L4M4 exam
Question #: 3
Topic #: 1
[All L4M4 Questions]

Which of the following are signs that modern-day slavery might be taking place within the supply chain? Select THREE.

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A, B, C

The correct answers are; suspiciously low labour costs, workers living on site and poor quality products (as this signals that the workforce may be unskilled).

A low score on the CPI is a good thing (high scores are more likely to signify slavery concerns) and just because someone speaks English as a second language doesn't mean you automatically need to be suspicious. That would be prejudice.

I believe E) supplier based in a country with a low score on the Corruption Perception Index is a strong indicator too.

I agree with you, Clay. C) workers that live on-site could also be a red flag.

I'm not sure about poor quality products, it could be a sign but not necessarily linked to slavery.

But what about poor quality products? Could that also indicate modern-day slavery?

I would also add the supplier being based in a country with a low corruption perception index.
