Cisco Exam 300-425 Topic 6 Question 102 Discussion

Actual exam question for Cisco's 300-425 exam
Question #: 102
Topic #: 6
[All 300-425 Questions]

An engineer is implementing a wireless design for a service provider. The design includes a Catalyst 9800, a stack of two Catalyst 9300X-

48HX switches, and 9166 APs. Each AP must be named using the Floor-439412509-01X sting where X is the area number. The engineer wants

to connect the APs to the switch stack using POE. How many APs must the engineer connect to the stack so the APs run using full functionalities?

This question is making my head spin, but I'm pretty sure the answer is C. Who comes up with these wacky AP naming conventions anyway? Probably the same person who designed the Catalyst 9800 - must be a real joker.

Wait, why are we naming the APs using such a strange string? Couldn't we just use something more straightforward, like 'AP1', 'AP2', etc.? Anyways, I'll go with B, all ports on switch 1 of the stack.

Hmm, I'm not sure. Wouldn't it be better to connect only half the ports per switch to distribute the load evenly? D seems more reasonable to me.

That's a good point. Maybe distributing the load evenly is the way to go.

But wouldn't it be more balanced to connect half the ports per switch? D seems like a good option.

I think connecting all ports on switch 1 of the stack would be better for full functionality.

I disagree, I believe the engineer should connect all ports on switch 2 of the stack for full functionalities.

I think the answer is C. All ports of the switches should be connected to the APs to ensure they run using full functionalities.

Exactly, it's important to utilize all available ports on the switches to optimize the wireless network design.

That makes sense, distributing the APs across all ports would also help with load balancing and redundancy.
