I agree with Francoise, RADIUS is the way to go.

Oof, don't even mention PEAP or LEAP, that's a flashback to my CCNA days. I'm with you all, EAP is the way to go. It's the foundation of 802.1x, can't go wrong with that.

Yeah, EAP is the way to go. It's the standard for 802.1 authentication. Unless the question is trying to trick us, I think B is the clear winner here.

I was leaning towards that too. EAP just makes the most sense for this scenario. RADIUS, TACACS, and MAB are used for other authentication methods.

Haha, good analogy! And yeah, EAP is the clear winner here. I'm just glad they didn't try to trick us with something more obscure. I'd be sweating if they asked about PEAP or LEAP or something.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure the answer is B) EAP. That's the protocol used for 802.1 authentication between the endpoint and the switch, right?

Totally, EAP is the right answer. I mean, it's like asking which protocol a car uses to refuel - you'd say gasoline, not the fuel truck or the gas station billing system, right?

This question is pretty straightforward, but I know a lot of people struggle with 802.1 authentication protocols. Let's see what everyone thinks.

Yeah, EAP makes the most sense. The question specifically mentions 802.1 authentication, which is all about EAP. RADIUS, TACACS, and MAB are related, but not the direct protocol used in this scenario.

I agree, EAP is the way to go here. RADIUS is the authentication server protocol, TACACS is for Cisco devices, and MAB is for Mac Address Bypass, not the actual authentication.

This question seems pretty straightforward. I'm pretty confident the answer is B) EAP, since that's the protocol used for 802.1x authentication between the endpoint and the switch.
