I'd go with A, C, and D. The subject matter expert is like a wizard, helping the customer navigate the mystical waters of the product. Challenging the status quo should be left to the brave adventurers.
Definitely A, C, and D. The expert's role is to make the customer's life easier, not to shake things up. Unless of course, the status quo is just terrible, then a little shaking up might be in order!
