A systems administrator is installing Windows on an 8TB drive and would like to create a single 8TB partition on the disk. Which of the following options should the administrator use?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: C

Scenario:Installing Windows on an 8TB drive, aiming for a single 8TB partition.

Solution:Use theGPT (GUID Partition Table)option (Option C):

GPT supports larger partitions (up to 18.4 million TB) compared to MBR (limited to 2TB).

VMFS, ZFS, and LVM are unrelated to the partitioning scheme in Windows.

Definitely GPT. Anything else would be a real 'disk-aster' waiting to happen!

Haha, I can just imagine the sysadmin trying to use MBR and running into a wall at 2TB. That would be a real 'partitioning problem'!

Elza: Agreed, GPT or ZFS would be the best options for creating a single 8TB partition.

User 3: ZFS could also work well for handling that much storage.

I second that! GPT is the standard for large drives these days. VMFS and ZFS are more for virtualization and NAS, so they're not the right choice here.

Easy, it's gotta be GPT! MBR can't handle partitions bigger than 2TB, and LVM is more for Linux. GPT is the way to go for an 8TB drive.

Yeah, MBR won't cut it for a partition that big.

GPT is definitely the way to go for that 8TB drive.

I'm not sure, but I think MBR wouldn't work for an 8TB drive, so it's definitely not the answer.

I agree with Helga, GPT is the right choice because it supports large drives like 8TB.

I think the administrator should use GPT for creating a single 8TB partition.
