But doesn't the fact that the Aruba Switch has a 'loopback1' IP address indicate that it has some kind of routing capability?

I don't think the MTU mismatch would be a big issue in this case. The lack of a locally reachable IP is the main problem.

You know, I bet the answer is D. The configuration looks pretty straightforward, and as long as the MTU and IP settings are compatible, static routing should just work. I mean, how hard can it be, right? *chuckles*

Hmm, I'm not so sure. The image shows the Aruba Switch has a gateway configured, so it should have a reachable IP address, right? Maybe the MTU mismatch is the real gotcha here.

I think the lack of a 'routing' command on the Aruba Switch is the key problem. Without that, it won't be able to participate in the static routing, no matter what the other configs look like.
