You have physical access to an Aruba CX-Switch with unknown/lost credentials. What are the possible steps to rebuild the credentials? (Select two.)

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: B, E

To regain access to an Aruba CX switch when credentials are unknown or lost, one can press and hold the clear button, then power cycle the switch to reset the password. Additionally, using the boot profile 0 at the boot loader menu can be used to bypass the current startup configuration, which may include the unknown credentials.

Ah, the age-old 'lost switch credentials' problem. I hear the solution is to sacrifice a goat under a full moon while reciting the IPv6 address of the Aruba support line. Or was it B and C?

I'm not sure about option D. Calling support might be a hassle.

Wait, you're telling me I can't just yell 'Hey Siri, reset my Aruba switch!' and have it work? Darn, back to the drawing board.

Option E - 'Use boot profile 0'? What is this, a video game cheat code? I'll stick with the good old-fashioned button-pressing methods, thanks.

Hmm, I bet the Aruba engineers got a good laugh when they came up with option D. 'Just call us, we'll hook you up!' Nice try, but I'm going with B and C.

D seems a bit too easy - call support for a one-time password? Nah, I'd rather roll up my sleeves and figure it out myself. B and C for the win!

B and C look like the most promising options to me. Pressing and holding the clear button should reset the credentials, but I'd want to be sure to power-cycle the switch too.

I would definitely start with B and C first before trying anything else. It seems like the most straightforward solution.

Calling Aruba support for a one-time password might be a good last resort if the other options don't work.

I think using boot profile 0 could also work. It's worth a try if B and C don't work out.

I agree, B and C seem like the best options. Clearing the credentials and then power-cycling the switch should do the trick.
