What is the maximum hose-lay distance from a fire apparatus to any portion of a boat that is stored outside?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer

The maximum hose-lay distance from a fire apparatus to any portion of a boat stored outside is 200 feet (61 meters). This distance ensures that firefighting hoses can reach all areas of the boat storage facility while maintaining adequate water pressure and flow for effective fire suppression.

C) 200 ft (61 m) seems more reasonable. Anything beyond that and you might as well just take the boat to the fire station instead.

I disagree, I believe it is 200 ft (61 m) because we need to ensure we can reach any portion of the boat.

D) 450 ft (137 m)? What is this, a hose-laying Olympics? Might as well just attach the fire truck to the boat and tow it back to the station.

I'm pretty sure the correct answer is B) 150 ft (45 m). Unless the boat is parked on top of a skyscraper, that should be enough hose to reach it.

I agree, it's important to have enough hose length to reach the boat in case of a fire.
