I believe D is one of the correct statements, as it mentions enabling auto recover within the user database session.

Easy peasy, B and C are the way to go. Though I'm still wondering, do the database sessions get a free manicure during the recovery process?

Definitely B and C are true. Transparent Application Continuity is all about automatic failover without any application changes. And it's enabled when failover type=auto, not all.
