D) To show that the digital assistant has understood what was being asked. Bingo! Though I'm not sure why anyone would think the assistant is trying to kick the user out. That's just rude.
B) To end the conversation without forcing the user to click buttons. Ah, the old 'mic drop' approach. Very bold, but probably not the primary purpose.
A) To indicate to the user that they can leave the conversation at any time. Wait, what? That's not even close! Someone needs to go back and study their conversational AI basics.
D) To show that the digital assistant has understood what was being asked. That's the whole point of implicit confirmation - to let the user know their request was received and understood.
