Question #: 27
Topic #: 8
[All 1Z0-1091-22 Questions]

When used with the SaaS Cloud services, the Oracle Smart Grid Gateway (SGG) adapters process usage and device event payloads via batch processing. Files are sent from a head-end system (HES) to an Oracle Cloud Object Storage location, where they are batch processed.

Which THREE operations are performed by the SGG processes?

Show Suggested Answer Hide Answer
Suggested Answer: A, B, C

In a SaaS environment, Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management and Smart Grid Gateway are deployed on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and use OCI Object Storage to store files and data. OCI Object Storage is a scalable and secure service that allows users to store and access data from anywhere using REST APIs or web consoles. Smart Grid Gateway adapters process usage and device event payloads via batch processing. Files are sent from a head-end system (HES) to an OCI Object Storage location, where they are batch processed. According to the Oracle Utilities Smart Grid Gateway User Guide, some operations that are performed by the Smart Grid Gateway processes are:

Parse payload into individual usage readings/device events. This is an operation that extracts usage readings or device events from the payload file and converts them into individual records.

Invoke IMD/Device Event Seeder (as appropriate). This is an operation that invokes a web service that sends usage readings or device events to Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management for further processing.

Transform usage readings into standard (unified) format. This is an operation that converts usage readings from vendor-specific formats into a standard format that can be processed by Oracle Utilities Meter Data Management.

I'm not sure about loading reads into a file directory. I think it might be more efficient to load them into Object Storage.

Definitely B, C, and D. The question is specifically about the SaaS Cloud services, so the data needs to be processed and stored in the cloud, not locally.

Haha, I hope the exam doesn't ask us to 'load reads into a file directory'. That would be a bit too old-school, don't you think?

Hmm, I'm not sure about E. Isn't the data supposed to be loaded into Object Storage, not a local file directory?

I agree with Janine. Parsing the payload, transforming readings, and loading into Object Storage make sense.

I think A, B, and C are the right operations. Parsing the payloads, invoking the appropriate seeders, and transforming the data seem to be the key tasks.

The correct answers are B, C, and D. The SGG processes parse the payloads, transform the usage readings, and load them into Object Storage.

Exactly. And the SGG processes handle the batch processing of the usage and device event payloads.

So, the files are sent from the HES to Oracle Cloud Object Storage, right?
