I agree with you on B and D, those are pretty straightforward. But I'm not sure about A and C. A shared gateway interface doesn't necessarily require virtual systems, and a shared physical firewall could also be managed virtually. There might be more to those options than meets the eye.
Hmm, this question is a bit tricky. I think the virtual systems required would be for the B) virtual router and the D) VMware NSX deployment. A virtual router can be a more cost-effective solution than a physical internet-facing router, and the NSX deployment with micro-segmentation definitely needs virtual systems to achieve that level of granular control.
