I'm going with C) Verb and noun. That's the classic approach, like 'Activate Switch' or 'Generate Report'. Though I do enjoy a good 'Flabbergast Encabulator' now and then.

A) Verb only? Well, I guess that's one way to keep it simple. Though 'Eat' is probably not the most descriptive function name.

D) Adjective and noun? Really? That seems like it would be too vague to properly describe a function.

Sure, in Function Analysis, a function is typically described using both a verb and a noun to capture its action and purpose.

B) Adjective and verb sounds right to me. Gotta capture both the quality and the action of the function.
