The environment consists of four Oracle database nodes, each with 1x10Gb/s NIC, connected via NFS, to a fully populated FlashBlade chassis. Only a small number of blades are being used. 1.5GB/s? That's a pretty decent sustained write performance for a 15 blade FlashBlade. I don't think that's the problem.

Maybe the architect should suggest enabling dNFS and increasing the number of RMAN channels to improve performance.

The issue is definitely with the dNFS configuration or the number of RMAN channels. If those aren't set up properly, you're not going to get the performance you expect from the FlashBlade.
