I wonder if the SAP developers were playing a game of 'Depreciation Jenga' when they were designing S/4HANA. 'Oooh, let's take this one out and see what happens!'

Is it just me, or is SAP really going all-in on the 'less is more' approach with S/4HANA? Simplification is great, but I hope they didn't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

C) Year-end closing? Really? That seems like a pretty core functionality to get removed. I must be missing something here.

Hmm, I don't know about that. The year-end closing process is still very much a thing in S/4HANA, just with some differences. I'm leaning more towards the insurance values in the asset master records.

You know, I'm starting to second-guess myself. Maybe it's the year-end closing functionality that became obsolete? That would make sense given the major architecture changes in S/4HANA.

Nah, I don't think it's the non-posting depreciation areas. I'm pretty sure that was just a change in terminology, not a functional change.
