Veritas Exam VCS-279 Topic 9 Question 82 Discussion

Actual exam question for Veritas's VCS-279 exam
Question #: 82
Topic #: 9
[All VCS-279 Questions]

Backups to a storage device fail with the following error message:

Disk storage server is down (2106)

The storage server is an OpenStorage (OST) host, and the master server and media server are both acting as media servers under Credentials > Storage Servers in the NetBackup Administration Console. The disk pool is in an Up state and the storage server is in a Down state. Troubleshooting confirmed the OST plug-ins on the servers are mismatched.

Which command should an administrator use to check the plug-in version installed on the servers?

Could be, but I'm leaning towards bpstsinfo too. Let's hope it's the right one!

I would've thought nbdevquery. It checks device status, could include plug-ins, right?

I believe the correct command is bpstsinfo. It’s usually used for storage server details.

I think it might be tricky. We need to know which command checks the plug-in version.

Yeah, I saw that. It's related to OST host and mismatched plug-ins. Do you think it's a tough one?

Did anyone see the error about backups failing with 'Disk storage server is down'?

I'm not sure, but I think bpgetconfig could also be used for that.

I believe nbdevquery might be a better option to check the plug-in version.

I think the administrator should use the bpstsinfo command.
