I'm going with C. But honestly, the vSAN team must have been drinking coffee while designing this question. It's like they want to confuse us!

I agree, this question is tricky. I'll choose C) The applied storage policy is modified.

I'm not sure, but I'll go with D) Additional storage capacity is added to the cluster.

I think it's A) A host in the cluster enters maintenance mode.

I think both A) and D) could be correct, as any changes to the cluster can trigger components to reconfigure.

C is the answer, for sure. Storage policy changes are the most common cause of components entering the reconfiguring state. Duh, everyone knows that!

Why is this question so confusing? I feel like all the answers could be correct, depending on the specific situation. vSAN is always a mystery to me.

Hmm, I'm leaning towards B. Recovering from a vSAN failure just makes sense for the reconfiguring state, doesn't it?

I believe it could also be D) Additional storage capacity is added to the cluster, causing components to reconfigure.

I'm not sure about this one. Isn't B the correct answer? The reconfiguring state usually indicates the vSAN is recovering from a failure.

D sounds plausible too. Adding more storage capacity would require the vSAN to rearrange the data, putting the components in a reconfiguring state.

I think the answer is C. Modifying the storage policy would definitely cause components to enter the reconfiguring state as the vSAN has to adjust to the new policy.

Actually, I think it might be B. When the cluster is recovering from a failure, components could be in the reconfiguring state.

I believe the answer is C as well. Changing the storage policy makes sense.

I agree with Justine, when a host goes into maintenance mode, components can enter the reconfiguring state.
